This blog will informally report what is happening in the Aberdeen Hebrew Congregation. We are a very small Jewish community located in Aberdeen, Scotland. We have a building at 74 Dee St (search for "Aberdeen synagogue" on http://maps.google.co.uk/). We have small services every Friday night at 6PM, and a larger (but still small!) service at 10AM on the first Saturday of each month. We also have communal dinners about once a month, and sessions with Edinburgh's Rabbi Rose about once every 6 weeks. And of course we have events for most major Jewish holidays. For background information about our community, see our website http://www.aberdeenhebrew.org.uk/ (this also contains information about contact details).
Dec 2008 was very eventful, with a visit from Rabbi Rose, a communal dinner, and a Chanukah party as well as our usual Friday night and first-Shabbat-of-month services. Jan 2009 will probably be quieter, but we will certainly have Friday night services at 6PM as usual, and a Shabbat morning service at 10AM on 3 Jan.
